24.1. The adhesive of heat shrink tube may melt
during shrinking of heat-shrinkable cap.
24.2. Pinch again with needle nose pliers as shown.
24.3. Make sure the heat shrink tube is completely
sealed between two insulated bus wires and has no
visible gap.

Remove release paper from mastic strips
1”× 1-1/2” (1.3 cm x 2.5 cm), wrap one strip of
mastic with width (not length) around each heated
shrinkable cap against the end of the 1/2” × 1” (1.3
cm x 2.5 cm) heat-shrinkable tube and position as
shown.
IMPORTANT:
Stretch the mastic strips around each
of the heat shrinkable cap.
25.1. Stretch the mastic strips.
25.2. Wrap one strip of mastic with stretched width.

Squeeze the mastic together.

Slide the 8” (30 cm) long heat-shrinkable tube as
shown.
Place edge of tube at edge of mastic.
28.
Shrink the tube completely. Start at the end furthest
from the cap and work toward the open end. Keep
heating after tube has shrunk, melt adhesive and
mastic inside tube. Total heating time should be
about 5 minutes.
CAUTION:
To avoid burns allow heated sections to
cool before touching.
IMPORTANT:
Additional heat is required after the
tube is shrunk to melt the covered mastic and
adhesive inside. A ring of mastic and adhesive will
appear when thoroughly melted.
28.1. Start at the point as shown.
28.2. Shrink tube by moving the heat gun side to
side as shown.
28.3. Start using the heat gun at one end of the tube.
Once heating, a ring of mastic and adhesive will
appear. Then work the heat gun slowly toward the
open end.
