Before using for the first time
Warning
: Remove all packaging including any press plate protection before using
your handheld garment steamer.
Before connecting your handheld garment steamer to the mains supply, make sure your
supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on your appliance.
When you first use your handheld garment steamer, there may be a slight odour and it
may smoke slightly for the first few minutes of operation. This is quite normal and will
disappear.
What water to use?
Your appliance has been designed to use tap water. If your water is very hard, mix 50%
tap water and 50% bottled demineralised water.
Warning
: Never add fabric conditioner, starches or any other chemicals to the
water in your handheld garment steamer.
Priming your handheld garment steamer
before use
Warning
: Always unfold the steam head until it is locked before any use of the
appliance.
Follow these simple steps to remove any impurities or residues inside your handheld
garment steamer that may be left over from the manufacturing process.
1.
Follow the instructions under ‘Filling instructions’ and fill the water reservoir as
described.
2.
Empty the reservoir to rinse out any foreign particles then refill it.
3. Press and hold the steam button to release continuous steam.
4. Steam an old piece of cloth (cotton or towelling is ideal) for a few minutes.
5.
Any impurities will be flushed from your handheld garment steamer by the steam
and absorbed by the cloth. Your handheld garment steamer is now ready for use.
Filling instructions
1. Make sure the unit is unplugged.
2. Grasp the handle and rotate the water reservoir to detach from handheld garment
steamer.
3.
The fill inlet is located on the top of the reservoir.
4.
Remove the rubber inlet cover and fill the reservoir.
5. Close the inlet cover and wipe off any water on the reservoir surface.
6. Return the reservoir to the handheld garment steamer, making sure that it snaps
securely into place.
Operating instructions
Warning
: Never use steam on silks or synthetics.
Note:
Before first use or if the handheld garment steamer has not been used for a long
period of time, it will be necessary to prime the appliance. See ‘Cleaning your handheld
garment steamer before use’ for instructions.
1. Follow the ‘Filling instructions’ in the section above.
2. Plug the unit into the electrical mains outlet.
3. Slide the «ON» (|) - «OFF» (O) button up to turn the handheld garment steamer
«ON» (|).
4. The power indicator will not illuminate whilst the unit pre-heats.
5. Allow the handheld garment steamer to warm up. This can take up to 40 seconds.
Warning:
Pressing the steam button before the appliance has finished pre-
heating may cause leaking from the press plate.
Note:
You may hear a tapping noise during the heat-up cycle. This is normal.
6. When the power indicator light switches on, the appliance is ready to use.
7. Hold the handheld garment steamer in a vertical position with the steam nozzle
away from you and others. Press and hold the steam button to release
continuous steam.
8. To stop continuous steam, release the steam button .
9. To switch off the handheld garment steamer, slide the «ON» (|) - «OFF» (O)
button down.
10. Unplug the device when not in use. Empty the reservoir and allow the handheld
garment steamer to cool down before storing.
11. For storage purposes or to place in the travel pouch, it is possible to fold the
appliance. Push the head down towards the handle to fold.
Warning: Allow the appliance to completely cool down before folding for storage.
Take care not to pinch or trap hands, fingers or the power cable when folding the
head of the handheld garment steamer.
Accessories
Your handheld garment steamer comes with a fabric brush and travel pouch.
i.
The fabric brush separates the fibres on thicker fabrics for better steam
penetration. To affix the attachment, snap the fabric brush over the press plate.
ii. The travel pouch is used to store your appliance or to travel with. Before using the
travel pouch, unplug your appliance and allow it to cool down for one hour. Then
empty the water tank before storing it.
Make sure the handheld garment steamer is unplugged and cool before
applying attachments. If the unit has been in use, allow the unit to cool down
completely first before changing attachments as the press plate will still be hot.
Descaling instructions
Warning
: Do not use harsh abrasives, chemical cleaners or solvents to descale of
your handheld garment steamer.
Warning
: We advise you do this operation in a vented room.
If you notice a decrease in the performance of your appliance, it may need descaling.
Descaling helps to removes scale and impurities to prolong the life of your appliance. If
the water in your area is very hard, the descaling should be performed more frequently.
Do this process in a well-ventilated room.
1. Remove the water reservoir.
2. Remove the rubber inlet cover.
3. Fill the reservoir with 50% untreated tap water and 50% white vinegar.
4. Close the inlet cover and wipe off any water on the reservoir surface.
5. Return the reservoir to the handheld garment steamer, making sure that it snaps
securely into place.
6. Plug the unit into the electrical mains outlet.
7. Slide the «ON» (|) - «OFF» (O) button up to turn the handheld garment steamer
«ON» (|).
8. The power indicator will not illuminate whilst the unit pre-heats.
9. Allow the handheld garment steamer to warm up. This can take up to 40 seconds.
10. When the power indicator light switches on, the appliance is ready to use.
11. Stand the handheld garment steamer on its base on a flat, stable and heat-
resistant surface.
12. Position the steam nozzle away from you and others.
13. Press and hold the steam button to release steam.
14. Allow the appliance to run until the water tank is completely emptied.
15. Slide the «ON» (|) - «OFF» (O) button down to turn the handheld garment
steamer «OFF» (O).
16. Unplug the appliance and refill the reservoir with 100% untreated tap water and
repeat the previous operation until the water tank is completely empty in order to
rinse your appliance.
