6. OBSERVATION
Place the desired object in the middle of the object plate (11)
and secure it with the clamps (10) if necessary. The objective’s
magnification (2x or 4x) can be adjusted by turning the objec-
tive holder (7). It is recommended to start observations always
with the 2x objective. Now look through the eyepieces (1) at
the binocular head (4). Adjust the sharpness of the image with
the focusing wheel (6).
The glass plate can be replaced by a black/white plate. De-
pending on the colour, the image contrast can be enhanced.
7. FOCUSING AND DIOPTER COMPENSATION
Look at an object. Close your left eye and adjust the focus with
the focusing wheel (6) for your right eye. Close your right eye
and adjust the focus for your left eye with the diopter setting
(3). Now the microscope is adjusted for your eyes.
8. INTERPUPILLAR DISTANCE
This microscope is equipped with an adjustable binocular
head. To set up the microscope to your individual eye distan-
ce, look through the eyepieces. Move the eyepieces against
each other until you find the ideal position.
9. RUBBER EYECUPS
The rubber eyecups (2) can be used to minimize the entry
of disturbing sidelight. For this put the rubber eyecups on the
eyepieces. Turn the eyepieces so that the higher edges of the
eyepieces are pointing outwards.
NOTE!
The LED illumination has a lifespan of approx. 20,000 hours.
In the case of a technical error please contact the service cen-
ter.
10. SMARTPHONE HOLDER (FIG. 5)
Put the Smartphone holder (15) over the eyepiece and fix it
with the knurled screw.
When using a device with binocular head, install the holder to
the left or right eyepiece.
NOTE!
The suction cups must be free of dust and dirt. It may help to
slightly dampen them.
Make sure that the Smartphone holder is mounted securely
and the Smartphone is firmly fixed on the plate.
Smartphones with a rough surface can not be fixed as good as
that one with flat surfaces. Make sure that it will not slip down.
Start the camera App on your Smartphone. The camera lens
must be placed directly over the eyepiece to get the image
centered in the middle of the LCD.
It can be neccessary to enlarge the image to the full LCD size
by using the camera zoom. A shadowing at the edges is pos-
sible.
Remove the Smartphone from the holder after use.
11. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Your microscope is a high-quality optical instrument. Please
take care that neither dust nor fingerprints take place on the
optical surfaces. If necessary, clean the microscope body
with a slightly moistened soft cloth. Use a separate clean cloth
with some drops of alcohol to clean the optical surfaces. After
using, the microscope should be protected with its dust cover.
Remove the batteries from the unit if it is not used for a
longer time.
Remember:
A well maintained microscope will keep its optical quality for
years and thus maintain its value.
12. DISPOSAL
Dispose of the packaging materials properly, according to
their type, such as paper or cardboard. Please take the
current legal regulations into account when disposing of your
device. You can get more information on the proper disposal
from your local waste-disposal service or environmental autho-
rity.
Do not dispose of electronic devices in the household gar-
bage! As per Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Par-
liament on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its
adaptation into German law, used electronic devices must be
collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friend-
ly manner.
In accordance with the regulations concerning batteries
and rechargeable batteries, disposing of them in the nor-
mal household waste is explicitly forbidden. Please make sure
to dispose of your used batteries as required by law — at a local
collection point or in the retail market. Disposal in domestic
waste violates the Battery Directive. Batteries that contain to-
xins are marked with a sign and a chemical symbol. „Cd“ =
cadmium, „Hg“ = mercury, „Pb“ = lead.
