Information
ANODE:
Your DHW HP has a high quality steel tank for the DHW generation. This tank inside is enamelled and gives you already a
nearly perfect protection against corrosion. Nevertheless even the superior quality enamel has impurities or zones with
micro-pores. We therefore added a catholic protection (magnesium anode) that ensures the best possible protection against
corrosion. The anode is situated in the middle of the DHW tank (some models has 2 pcs.). The anode is essential for the
prevention of corrosion. As the anode is worn by the use, it has to be checked yearly and to be replaces if necessary. If you
have a model with a signal anode, the display informs you, when the signal anode has to be replaced.
SIGNAL ANODE:
(Models equipped with signal anode only)
Menu settings: If the signal anode is factory mounted (order code 489202), the value of the parameter “ANODE” is already
set to “ON”. If the signal anode is retrofit, the parameter “ANODE” has to be set manually to “ON”. If a standard anode is
installed, the parameter “ANODE” has to be set to the value “OFF”.
The signal anode function: If the signal anode is used and needs replacement, the alarm code “9” will appear on the display.
Call your installer for maintenance and the replacement of the signal anode. Note: while the signal anode alarm reminds for
anode replacement, the DHW HP operates without any restriction. Attention: The signal anode is deactivated if the
“ANODE” parameter value is set to “OFF”. See page 21 "maintenance of the anode".
The signal anode function requires the software release 1.31 (or higher) that supports the features like solar cells, holiday
and boost. The signal anode can be retrofit. Please note that the wiring of the solar cell inverter is different to previous
software releases.
DEFROSTING
Your DHW HP is equipped with an automatic and continuous defrosting system. Defrosting becomes necessary, when the
evaporator gets iced after heavy-duty operation or operating with low ambient temperature.
DEFROSTING MODES:
The defrosting mode is model specific.
“Defrost Gas”
– Defrosting with hot gas. Only VT3130 / VT3131 / VT3132
“Defrosting gas”
Only for models VT3130 / VT3131 / VT3132
If the temperature at the evaporator < -2°C, the automatic defrosting procedure (by hot gas) starts. The bypass solenoid
valve now opens, the compressor will run and the fan is cut-off.
If the evaporator temperature r5°C, the solenoid valve closes, and the fan restarts. If the temperature for the
evaporator does not reach +5°C within 20 minutes, the defrosting procedure will stop and switch back to normal operating
mode. If the evaporator temperature reaches -18°C or below the HP will be locked. The supplementary heating
"HP+EL”
or
"HP+BOIL"
will continue, if selected, up to the set point of “
T-min”
.
Note: The minimum interval between two defrosting cycles is 2 hours. Even if the evaporator temperature should fall to or
below -2°C in this period, the defrosting procedure will remain locked.
