Chapter 3: Attaching the Bed Cabinet to the wall.

Attach the “
Top Nailer Cover
” using the 1-1/4” screws from
Hardware Package #8 through the pre-drilled holes in the
cover piece. One side of the cover has recessed holes which
is the front and one edge is finished which is the bottom. The
quantity of screws used will vary depending on bed size. Cover
screw heads with stickers from Hardware Package #8.
STEP 5
DO NOT REMOVE THE CAUTION TAPE ON THE TOP
NAILER. THIS TAPE CONTAINS IMPORTANT SAFETY
INFORMATION FOR DISASSEMBLY.
Our mechanism
utilizes steel
L-Shaped
brackets to hold
the bottom of the
bed & mechanism
to the wall &
baseboard. This prevents the bottom of
the bed from shifting, as well as acting
as a backup safety device to keep the
mechanism attached to the wall.
Fully tighten and attach the Baseboard
Brackets to each of the mechanisms.
The left is marked “LH” and the right is
marked “RH”. Make sure the bottom of the bed and brackets are both pushed flat against
the wall and baseboard. The slots on the back of the bracket are for 16” deep Murphy
Beds and the slots of the front are for 21” (wardrobe) deep Murphy Beds. Attach with (qty
2) 20mm bolts and nylock nuts found in Hardware Package #2.
Do not attach the bracket to the wall at this time. They will attach after adjustment.
