Description
The Micro100x is a high-quality multi-purpose speaker suitable for use wherever top performance is required but
space is limited. A two-way design, it utilizes a 5

/

-inch (135mm) bass unit with a cast-aluminum basket and Boston's
patented 1-inch black-anodized aluminum tweeter with AMD
TM
(Amplitude Modification Device). The AMD creates an
extremely smooth, accurate response, resulting in remarkably natural high frequency reproduction.
The Micro100x uses an extremely rigid and heavy die-cast aluminum enclosure to eliminate unwanted cabinet
resonances, for clearer sound. MagnaGuard
®
magnetic shielding allows placement next to a TV in a home theater
system without distorting the picture.
Five Micro100x speakers combined with a Boston powered subwoofer form the Micro Reference System10k, a home
theater speaker system that delivers no-compromise performance with virtually unlimited placement flexibility.
Grille Design
The grille is made of perforated metal with a high percentage of open area for minimum effect on high
frequency performance.
Enclosure Shape
The enclosure is carefully designed to optimize the system’s performance. The bass reflex port is precisely flared
at both ends to minimize audible port turbulence. The area surrounding the tweeter is smooth with minimal
recesses to maintain a smooth and transparent high frequency response.
The Micro100x is ideal for use as:
* The LCR and surround channels of a high-performance, space-conscious home theater system
* The stereo speakers of a compact music system
* A multiroom extension speaker
Heat Sink/Terminal Plate
Heat-producing crossover components are mounted to a die-cast aluminum heat sink for stable, consistent
performance at high power. This large heat sink also draws heat from inside the cabinet, keeping critical driver
components cooler. The tweeter has its own multifinned aluminum heat sink for increased power handling
and reliability.
