Commissioning
First make all electrical connections and then carry out the
commissioning!
▶ Observe the installation instructions for all components and
assemblies in the system.
▶ Only switch on the power supply after all modules are set up.
4.1
Setting the coding switch
When the coding switch is in a valid position and communication is
established via the BUS system, the status indicator lights up green
continuously. When the coding switch is in an invalid or intermediate
position, the status indicator initially does not light up then lights up red.
4.2
Commissioning of the system and module
1. Isolate all poles of the mains voltage and secure against
reconnection.
2. Make sure the mains voltage is disconnected.
3. Connect all required sensors and actuators.
4. Mechanically establish the power supply (230 V AC) at all installed
modules and heat sources.
5. Set the coding switch at the module.
6. Set the coding switch at other modules, if necessary.
7. Switch on the power supply (mains voltage) to the entire system.
Once the status indicator on the module lights up green constantly:
8. Start commissioning the control unit
installation instructions of
control unit.
9. In the service menu
Commissioning
>
Start configuration
wizard?
> set
Yes
and follow up to
Altern. HS
menu.
The configuration wizard suggests a configuration for the ME 200
based on the connected sensor.
10.Check the settings in the ME 200 menu (
to the installed system if required.
Step 10 is important, as otherwise the C 400/C 800 will generate a fault
which leads to misinterpretations.
11.Make remaining adjustments as described in the installation
instructions for the control unit.
4.3
More status indicators at the module
In addition to the coding switch, the module has 4 LEDs that indicate the
status of each of the connected nodes
4.4
Settings menu of alternative heat source
If a ME 200 is installed, the
Service menu
>
Set altern. HS
menu is
displayed at the control unit (for adjustment of alternative heat source).
The following overview provides a brief description of the
Set altern. HS
menu. The menus and settings available in these menus are described in
detail on the following pages.
Menu overview Set altern. HS
•
Alt. heat source activation
– for active activation of the alternative
heat source
•
Relay output config.
– use of VR2 terminal
•
Buffer primary pump
– settings of primary pump
•
Mixer return AHS
– mixer settings for return temperature increase of
alternative heat source
•
Buffer
– settings for buffer cylinder charging
•
Blocking mode
– conventional heat source interlock functions
The factory settings are shown in bold in the setting areas.
CAUTION:
Risk of scalding due to omission of temperature limit.
If the only heating circuit is a heating circuit without mixer, this can result
in high temperatures.
▶ Installing the temperature limiter.
NOTICE:
Damage to device due to cold water in the heat source!
▶ Observe the manufacturer's specifications in relation to the minimum
return temperature of alternative heat source.
▶ Set the temperature for return temperature increase of the
alternative heat source according to the manufacturer's
specifications.

Buffer primary pump
Menu item
Setting area: function description
Alt. heat source
activation
Yes: active alternative heat source. The module
switches the alternative heat source on, depending on
demand (switching contact required on alternative heat
source).
The alternative heat source can be modulated as an
option (0-10 V output-regulated interface required at
alternative heat source).
No
: passive alternative heat source. No active activation
of the alternative heat source (e.g. (wood-burning)
stove).
Relay output config.
(VR2)
Off
: no connection to VR2
Bypass: bypass valve connected for conventional heat
source.
HC1 PM: pump for heating circuit 1 connected to VR2,
can only be used for stand-alone alternative heat source
(coding switch setting 10).
Menu item
Setting area: function description
Config. pump
Yes: primary pump connected to module (PR1).
No
: no primary pump connected to module.
Output for pump
On/Off
: the pump at the alternative heat source is
activated via an On/Off signal.
Note: if DHW is heated in the upper part of the buffer
cylinder, set the output of the pump as low as possible
to prevent blending.
PWM: the pump at the alternative heat source is variably
activated via a pulse width modulation signal.
Inv.PWM: the pump at the alternative heat source is
variably activated via an inverted pulse width
modulation signal (pump with solar characteristics).
0-10V: the pump at the alternative heat source is
variably activated via a 0-10 V signal.
Min. output of pump
12 ...
35
... 50 %: the lowest permitted output of the
primary pump during normal operation. The setting
value is specified as a percentage of the maximum pump
output.
