The rapid-change chuck 12 is needed to screw-in
stud bolts and can be used with or without the
roller clutch 13.
Mounting
The hexagon nut 2 must rest against the securing
ring of the motor spindle.
Screw the adapter for the roller clutch 14 onto the
motor spindle until it rests against the hexagon
nut 2. Secure it with the hexagon screw.
Place the roller clutch 13 onto the taper B 12 of
the adapter 14 and brace it with the wedge 15.
Place the rapid-change chuck 12 onto the roller
clutch 13 and also brace with a wedge.
Do not start the tapper until positioning it against
the workpiece to be worked.
Use a suitable lubricant when tapping.
To avoid breakage of the tap, please observe the
following tips:
– Guide the tapper axial to the tap hole.
– Work with little feed.
– Pre-drill the tap hole with the correct diameter.
– Always work with sharp-edged tool inserts.
Tapping Through Holes
After reaching the desired thread depth, lightly
pull back the machine in order to reverse the di-
rection of rotation.
Use the depth stop 9 to prevent possible drilling
through. The tapper automatically switches to
left-hand rotation when reaching the set depth of
the hole.
Tapping Blind Holes
When tapping blind holes, spiral fluted taps are
used that automatically cause the chips to flow
out of the hole.
Use the depth stop 9 to prevent possible running
into and seizing of the tap.
Screwing-in Stud Bolts (see figure
)
For screwing-in stud bolts, the roller clutch 13,
the rapid-change chuck 12 and stud-bolt
chuck 11 must be mounted.
Depending on the thread diameter and the thread
reach, the stud bolts must be screwed in with a
respectively specified tightening torque.
Setting the Torque
The tightening torque can be adjusted between 3
and 10 Nm.
The knurled screw sleeve of the roller clutch 13 is
secured against self-acting displacement by
means of a spring clip.
Remove the spring clip with a screwdriver.
Turning the knurled collar counterclockwise re-
duces the torque (3 Nm min.); turning clockwise
increases the torque (10 Nm max.).
After adjusting the torque, attach the spring clip to
the screw sleeve again.
When determining the best setting during the
practical testing, we recommend starting with a
low torque.
■
Before any work on the tool itself, pull the
power plug.
■
For safe and proper working, always keep the
machine and the ventilation slots clean.
If the power tool should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an authorized after-sales
service center for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts orders,
please always include the 10-digit article number
given on the nameplate of the power tool.
Power tools, accessories and packaging should
be sorted for environmental-friendly recycling.
