5 Unit maintenance

5.1 Maintenance and inspection

Daily maintenance and periodical maintenance is 

essential to ensure that the MAHU and associ-

ated devices perform as designed specifications. 

Please follow the requirement listed below to 

ensure MAHU long-term safety operation (the 

MAHU power supply shall be powered off when 

inspecting).

•    

During the commissioning, check the unit once 

a day. During normal operation, periodical 

maintenance shall be carried out at a fre-

quency of once a week to once a quarter or 

once half a year to once a year in accordance 

with operating environment and conditions.

•    

Bolts on all parts are tightened, or otherwise it 

will become a major cause of vibration.

•    

Belt and pulley 

(only used for belt-driven fan)

-  The belt tension of MAHU has been adjusted 

in factory. However, belt slack may occur 

due to some factors. Therefore, re-adjust 

belt tension if necessary. Apply a load of 

20-30N pressure to the center of belt, and 

the deflection of the belt is approximately 

5-20mm (→ Fig. 16).

-  When the belt cracked, broken or heavily 

worn, it shall be replaced with a new imme-

diately. 

-  Check pulley for angle error. If the installa-

tion accuracy of two pulleys is not enough, it 

will affect the belt service life. For the axle 

parallelism and eccentricity, please maintain

1/3°(Fig. 17).

-  The bearing will be damaged if the pulley 

side has been suffered strong impact during 

installing and removing pulley.

•    

Bearing

Permanently lubricated bearings are maintenance 

-free, the oil filling time for other bearings could 

follow the recommendation as follows. Under 

normal operation:

-  If The unit runs below the temperature at 

40

 operating environment, filling oil once in 

every 2,000-5,000 hours. When the environ-

ment temperature raise each 10

, the life-

time of grease and lubrication should be cut 

by half. 

-  If unit is running in wet environment with rela-

tive humidity greater than 85%, filling lubricat-

ing oil once every 2000-2,500 hours.

The filling time above is just for reference, if fan 

manufacture has special requirements, please do 

it according to the fan manufacturer’ s require-

ment

Notice: 

When Re-lubrication, please clean the 

nozzle, remove the harden grease; 

please don't stop until the new oil is 

squeezed out from the bearing, in order 

to avoid over-adding, please use your 

hands to move the bearing during 

adding. To avoid the lubrication oil 

splashing, use cotton to wipe out the 

extrusion lubricant oil after adding; after 

filling the lubrication oil, please cover 

the plastic lid over filler hole.

Warning: 

Before re-lubrication, please cut off the 

power supply. Otherwise it may cause 

electric shock or other injuries like  

scrambled into running machine, result 

in serious harm or death.
