Description of unit
!
The BEA 460 is only to be operated in enclosed
workshop areas. Protect the BEA 460 against
moisture.
3.1
Intended use
The mobile Bosch Emissions Analyzer, referred to in the
following as BEA 460, is designed to permit the user-
friendly implementation of exhaust gas measurements on
vehicles.
The range of test specimens includes the entire
spectrum of gasoline and diesel road vehicles on
which emission measurements have to be performed
during workshop inspections, both to comply with legal
requirements and for the purposes of localizing and
rectifying faults.
In Germany, the BEA 460 is approved for the
performance of exhaust emission tests as per §47a
StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Act) on vehicles with
spark ignition engines.
The test procedures conform to the “Directive for
the assessment of user prompting for exhaust gas
analyzers” dated 23rd June 1994. The BEA 460 is
subject to the mandatory calibration requirement for
exhaust analyzers and must be calibrated once a year.
The BEA 460 is a modular mobile system for the
measurement of diesel and gasoline emissions.
In addition to speed and temperature, the BEA 460 with
DTM (speed/temperature module) can record angle-
based measurement quantities (dwell angle, ignition
point and start of delivery measurement).
3.2
Requirements
The BEA 460 can only be used in conjunction with a
Laptop / PC with an installed emission system analysis
program.
