Caution! The grinding tool runs on after the ma-
chine is switched off.
■
Do not clamp the machine in a vice.
■
Bosch can assure flawless functioning of the
machine only when original accessories are
used.
The machine is intended for cutting, roughing and
brushing metal and stone materials without using
water. For cutting stone, a cutting guide is re-
quired.
For machines with electronic control: With ap-
proved sanding tools, the machine can be used
for sanding and polishing.
Slots in load carrying walls are subject to the
Standard DIN 1053, Part 1 or country-specific
regulations.
These regulations are to be observed under all
circumstances. Before beginning work, consult
the responsible structural engineer, architects or
the construction supervisor.
■
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Protective Guard
For work with roughing or cutting discs, the
protective guard 8 must be mounted.
Place the protective guard 8
on the spindle collar. The rec-
tangular markings on the pro-
tective guard and the machine
must be opposite to each
other.
The nose (A) on the unlock-
ing button 6 must not be
damaged or missing. The
flange (B) with its groove for
holding the protective
guard must be undamaged
to ensure safe functioning.
Press the protective guard
against the spring force onto
the spindle collar and turn until
it locks into position.
The position of the protective guard 8 is to be
adapted to the requirements of the working proc-
ess. Press the unlocking button 6 and rotate the
protective guard to the required position.
The closed side of the protective guard 8 must
always point to the operator.
Only with actuation of the unlocking button 6
should the protective guard 8 be able to be ro-
tated! Should the protective guard rotate with-
out the locking button being pressed, the ma-
chine should then be taken to a customer
service centre for repair.
Note: Coded notches on the protective guard 8
ensure that only a protective guard that fits the
machine type can be mounted.
Auxiliary Handle
■
For all work with the machine, the auxiliary
handle 4 must be mounted.
Screw the auxiliary handle 4 on the right or left of
the machine head depending on the working
method.
