Operating Your Coffee Brewer
BEFORE FIRST USE
1. Remove packaging materials, labels, and stickers from the coffee brewer.
2. Clean the appliance by filling the water tank with clear, cold water to the
maximum level mark. Fully insert filter basket until it snaps into place and the
gray indicator on the filter basket handle is fully covered. Place the carafe with
the lid removed under the filter basket. Turn the coffee brewer on to allow the
water to run through.
3. Let the appliance cool down for 5 minutes before repeating the process.
Brew only water through the coffee brewer at least 2 times before brewing
any coffee.
USING THE COFFEE BREWER
1. Remove the thermal carafe and slide the filter basket out of the brewer.
2. Raise the lid of the water tank and pour 4-8 cups of fresh cold water into
the tank (Fig. 1). Do not fill above the MAX fill line.
3. Place a paper filter in the filter basket. We recommend a paper filter with
a 3 1/4” base dimension. Scoop ground coffee into the paper filter. We
recommend two level tablespoons of medium / coarse grind coffee per
cup, varying the amount according to your taste (Fig. 2). This equates to
approximately 7 to 9 grams of coffee per cup.
4. Slide the filter basket back into the holder until it snaps into place and the
gray indicator on the filter basket handle is no longer visible. (Fig. 3).
5. Place the carafe with lid removed onto the carafe plate and under the filter
basket. Switch the appliance on. The on / off switch will light up to show that
the machine is operating (Fig. 4).
6. When the brewing process is complete, the brewer will beep. Remove the
carafe from the brewer. For maximum heat retention and to pour, place the lid
on the carafe immediately (Fig. 5).
7. To pour coffee from the carafe, depress the lever on the carafe’s lid. The lid
must be tightened firmly to allow for one-handed pouring (Fig. 6).
8. To dispose of the used filter and coffee grounds, we recommend dumping it
from the filter basket. Rinse the filter basket out, and set aside to dry.
9. The appliance is equipped with an automatic shut off function which triggers
when the brew cycle is complete. The appliance can be switched off manually
at any time by using the on/off switch.
Optional: Freshly roasted coffee has more CO

trapped in the bean. If you are
brewing with freshly roasted coffee, or you would like to pre-infuse the coffee,
press and hold the power switch for 5 seconds. At that point the power switch
light will flash and 2 beeps will be heard indicating that you’ve enabled the
pre-infusion mode. Press and release the power switch a second time to begin
brewing. You can disable the pre-infusion mode by pressing the power switch
until the light blinks (5 sec.) and a single beep is heard. The brewer will remain in
this mode until the mode is turned off or the brewer is unplugged.
