5. Make sure the funnel tube is aligned and then insert the funnel. Once
in the “Insert” position, fix the funnel into coffee maker firmly by turning it
counterclockwise until it is in the “Lock” position (see Fig. 1).
6. Place the carafe on the removable shelf.
7. Plug the power cord into the outlet. Turn the steam knob to position
and once the indicator is illuminated, wait for about 2 minutes. Coffee will
begin flowing out.
8. After the desired amount of coffee has been brewed, you should turn
steam knob to position. Your coffee is ready now.
WARNING: Do not leave the coffee maker unattended during brewing, as
you need to operate manually sometimes!
9. Before removing steel mesh or opening the water reservoir cover, make
sure the pressure in the tank is released. To do so, first turn the steam knob
to the position: the steam in the tank will eject from the frothing
device. After the pressure has been released and the steel mesh has cooled
down, you can remove the steel mesh or open the water reservoir cover.
10. When you are done brewing the coffee, you can take the metal funnel
out by turning it counterclockwise, and then pour the coffee residue out
with the steel mesh pressed by press bar. Let them cool down completely,
then rinse under running water. (When you reassemble the steel mesh you
will have to turn the press bar to the original position)
C. FROTHING MILK/ TO MAKE CAPPUCCINO
You get a cup of cappuccino when you top up a cup of espresso with
steamed foamy milk.
1. Prepare your espresso first according to the part “B. MAKE ESPRESSO
COFFEE”. Make sure the container you use is big enough to hold both the
espresso and the frothed milk.
2. Fill a container with desired amount of milk for each cappuccino to be
prepared, you are recommended to use cold whole milk at refrigerator
temperature (never hot!).
Note: When choosing the size of the container, it is recommended
that the diameter is not less than 70±5mm. Keep in mind that the
milk increases in volume, so make sure the height of the container is
adequate.
3. Turn the steam knob to the position. The indicator will light up.
4. Insert the frothing device into the milk container about two centimeters
deep. After about 2 minutes, the steam will come out from the frothing
device. Move container in a circular motion keeping frothing device just
off the bottom of the container. This will steam the milk. Then begin to
lower container so the tip of the frothing device stays just below the milk’s
surface. This will create the froth. Move the container in a circular motion
until desired amount of froth is reached.
5. When the desired amount is reached, you can turn the steam control
knob to position to stop frothing. Release the residual steam in the
tank.
Note: Clean the steam conduit with a damp sponge immediately after
steam stops coming out. Be very careful not to get burnt!
6. Pour the frothed milk into the espresso prepared. Your cappuccino is
ready! Sweeten to taste and if desired, sprinkle the froth with a little cocoa
powder.
Note: We recommend you allow the appliance to cool down before
making coffee again. Otherwise, your coffee will have a slight burnt
odor.
