BOGE – VACON frequency converter for screw compressors

Control keypad

1.2

As soon as a fault is detected by the control electronics of the frequency con-
verter, the drive is stopped and the fault symbol

F

 together with the ordinal

number of the fault, the fault code and a short fault description appear on the
display. The fault can be reset with the

Reset button on the control keypad.

The faults are stored in the menu "Fault history" (M5) which can be browsed
by the operator. The different fault codes you will find in the table below.

The fault codes, their causes and correcting actions are described in the table
below.

System fault

Possible cause

The frequency converter has detected
too high a current (>4*I

n

) in the motor

cable:
– sudden load increase
– short circuit in motor cables
– unsuitable motor

The DC-link voltage has exceeded
the limits.
– delay time too short
– high overvoltage peaks in the

power supply

Current measuring has detected that
the sum of the motor phases does not
equal zero.
– Insulation failure in cables or motor

Charging switch open, when START
command was given.
– malfunction
– component failure

The supplementary board has created
a stop signal.

Increased overload
Defective component

The diagnostic program of the
frequency converter is unable to
locate the fault.

Corrective actions

Check loading.
Check motor size.
Check cable.

Extend delay time.

Check motor cable and motor.

Reset fault and restart.
Should the fault reoccur contact your
BOGE dealer.

Cannot be reset from the keypad.
Disconnect power supply.
Should you fail to correct the fault
contact your next BOGE dealer.

Reset fault and restart.
Should the fault reoccur contact your
BOGE dealer.
