1 IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
Your supplier is the SPECIALIST BODART & GONAY has chosen as its representative in your
area. For your SAFETY and SATISFACTION, we recommend that you contact them to install your
product.
- Check that your appliance is properly installed for the type of gas used (it can be installed for
natural gas, propane or butane)
- Before installation, ensure that local distribution conditions (category of gas and pressure) and the
appliance settings are compatible
- If you will be using LPG, ensure that the expansion valve provides the correct pressure, that is, 37
mb (for propane) or 30 mb (for butane)
- Installers wanting to switch from one type of gas to another MUST contact the manufacturer
- The appliance must be installed in compliance with the legislation in effect. We recommend that
you comply with local installation legislation in effect for the air vent:
+ The COSMOS 125 and COSMOS 125D gas fi replace air vent connexion must be done by
a certifi ed installer.
+ The following standards must be met: NBN D51/003 or NBN D51/006 LPG and Pr NBN
61-002 in Belgium. For France: the NFD 35-377 standard or Unifi ed Technical Document
(DTUP45-204).
- If your chimney was previously used for another heating or cooking appliance, it must be
cleaned prior to installing the chimney duct. The smoke outlet and its connexion to the
fi replace must be airtight and clean. The chimney must be built with:
The “ONTOP-Metaloterm” US 100-150 fl ue system or the “POUJOULAT” 100-150 Dualis
PGI fl ue system.
Only assemblies described in the “chimney assembly” section are authorised.
- Only install the draught limiter if there is a vertical length differential of more than three metres with
the horizontal length
- Your fi replace was set correctly at the factory and sealed. Any adjustments required for local
conditions must be done by a certifi ed installer. The warranty will automatically be voided if the
owner does any work themselves
- Make sure that the piping for the gas inlet (1/2 female outlet) on the right inside of the appliance
has been installed according to NBN 54/003 or NBN D51/006 rules
- Clean the gas ducts before reconnecting the appliance
- Ensure that there is always a 1.5 cm space between the door and the brickwork
- Hot air must be evacuated by the pipes located on the top of the fi replace. The evacuation of hot
air can be done with a natural draught using a pipe at least 1 m high minimum and with a 0.5 m tilt
maximum. Any additional horizontal length must be offset by an equivalent vertical length.In any
other confi guration, a mechanical extraction system must be installed (see Soft Heating System
below)
- Keep all fl ammable materials away from the appliance (nylon fabric, fl ammable liquids, etc.).
Furniture must also be kept at least one metre from the appliance
- Logs (optional) must be spread fl at on the bed of “coals” (gravel)
