7 IMPORTANT

RECOMMENDATIONS

-  Ensure there is always a 1.5 cm space between the door and the brickwork
-

Keep all fl ammable materials away from the appliance (nylon fabric, fl ammable liquids,
etc.) Furniture must also be kept at least one metre from the appliance

-  WARNING: children and people who are not familiar with the appliance must refrain from

operating it. If required, additional protection should be added to ensure that children, for
example, cannot touch the appliance

-  All visible parts must be considered active heating areas and should not be touched during

operation as this may result in burns

-  Only install the draught limiter if there is a vertical length differential of more than three metres

with the horizontal length

- Never use the appliance if the window is damaged or the door has been removed.
- Always insure that the pilot light area is kept clear (stones, log)

8   USING THE FIREPLACE

The fi replace can be operated either remotely or manually to start the fi re, stop it, or adjust
the fl ame.

FIRST FIRE

-  When lighting the fi replace for the fi rst time (new season or new installation), air in the gas inlet

pipe may perturb detection of the fl ame. If this is the case, the fi replace will need to be restarted
several times (to purge the inlet). The door must be opened after each unsuccessful attempt to
start the fi replace in order to avoid a build-up of gas in the combustion chamber

-  Wait fi ve seconds for the pilot light to stabilise and visually check for the presence of a fl ame

before lighting the burner. In addition, it is recommended that the fl ame level be at its highest
when lighting the burner

-  Carefully clean the window before and after the fi rst start up of the fi replace to avoid any

accumulation of particles

-  After heating for two hours, shut off the fi replace and let it cool down. Open the door to remove

the whitish deposit on the window with a damp cloth then shut the door again

- The fi rst fi re will set the paint and cause smoke: Ensure that the room is adequately ventilated
-  Do not touch the paint until the fi replace has cooled as it will become soft the fi rst time it is

heated

Note:

The fi replace will automatically go to safe mode for fi ve minutes after three unsuccessful

attempts to light it.

The door must be opened before trying to light the fi replace again!
