3.9 To adjust the multi-information display (MID)
(Cars with multi-functional steering wheel and low-combination instrument only)

On cars with a multi-functional steering wheel and low-combination instrument (no display on the combination
instrument), after installing the mobile telephone system and the telephone key on the multi-functional steering
wheel and replacing the multi-information display (MID), the telephone display can be activated on the MID.
This allows the mobile telephone to be used using the radio selection key on the multi-functional steering wheel.
The display is adjusted in the telephone menu on the MID.
To adjust the multi-information display (MID)
– Switch on terminal R (turn ignition key to position 1).
– Insert the telephone card into the card reader and enter the PIN code.
– Press the TEL key on the MID.
(Important: Press the TEL key on the MID within 9 seconds of switching on terminal R)
– Wait until the menu line appears on the MID.
A
– Press the menu key (55) for the third telephone level and hold it (for approx. 3 seconds).
B
– Immediately after pressing the menu key (55) the display on the MID will switch to that shown
in the illustration.
– Continue to hold the menu key (55) for the third telephone level.
C
If the display does not switch to the display shown in the illustration, the period (9 seconds) between
switching on terminal R and pressing the TEL key on the MID has been exceeded.
The adjustment procedure must be restarted.
– The display on the MID switches to that shown in the illustration.
– Switch the MID to LOW-KOM by pressing the key (56).
D
– After pressing the key (56) the MID will switch to the display shown in the illustration and the adjustment
procedure has been completed.
– The MID will now switch automatically until it returns to the radio display.
(Do not press any keys on the MID during this process).
– To check the display on the MID, you must re-enter the PIN code on the mobile telephone.
The display for the mobile telephone is not visible on the multi-information display (MID).
The search keys on the multi-functional steering wheel have the same function in telephone mode as the search
keys on the multi-information display (MID).
