Programme type (PTY) 

Search

The station search offers you two 
options:

>

"I Search non sensitive" locates only 
stations with a strong reception 
signal

>

"II Search sensitive" also locates 
stations with weaker signals.

1. Call up selection menu

2. With the right-hand rotary control, 

select either "I Search non sensitive"

or

Select "II Search sensitive"

3.

or

Turn right-hand rotary control until 
the desired station is heard.

If no station is found using "I Search 
non sensitive", weaker stations will 
be located in the second search run.

If the set starts to search for a 
station automatically, RDS is 

switched on and the reception signal on 
the frequency currently selected has 
deteriorated. If it does not find an alter-
native frequency, it reverts to the fre-
quency on which the station was previ-
ously being received.

Next station

Press in the direction desired: the next 
station will be searched for.

You can also search for a station by 
programme type (PTY).

Via RDS (Radio Data System), certain 
stations broadcast information that is 
flashed up briefly on the screen when 
their frequency is selected; this infor-
mation tells you what type of pro-
gramme is being received: news, 
sports, pop, culture, etc.

If reception is poor or if there is consid-
erable interference, it may take some 
time for the PTY details to be available.

PTY can also be used for disaster 
warnings. If the station is broad-

casting this type of information, 
"ALARM" appears on the screen.
