Vehicle position
Before starting a journey, you may wish
to take a look at the map in order to find
your bearings and possibly also to save
your current location.
To call up this map:
1. Select "Map"
2. Press right-hand rotary control.
A selection menu is called up
3. Select "Dest. input map".
The destination and position map
with cross-hairs is displayed
4. Select "Position".
The current position of your car is
shown on the map.
If the scale is smaller than 2 km, you
can save the current location in the
destination memory via "Save dest.",
see page
42 .
Entering car's position
You are advised only to correct the po-
sition in exceptional circumstances,
even after travelling by Motorail, for ex-
ample; the GPS transmitter requires
only a few minutes to identify your car's
position.
To enter the car's current position:
1. Select "Information"
2. Select "Position input"
3. Select the city and road as appropri-
ate.
Enter the address of your current po-
sition in the same way as a destina-
tion address, see page
24
4. Select "Junction ?".
The information "Crossing the junc-
tion" is given and the current position
is adopted by the navigation system.
If the GPS navigation system has
been able to determine the car's
position of its own accord, the details
are adopted by the system.
