Remove quick-release axle

and remove adjustment
plate

Roll the rear wheel as far for-
ward as possible and disen-
gage chain
1
from the chain
sprocket.
Pull out brake-caliper sup-
port
1
to the front and hang
to the side.
Roll the rear wheel back until
it is clear of the swinging arm.
The sprocket and the
spacer bushes on left and
right are loose fits in the wheel.
Make sure that these parts are
not damaged or get lost on re-
moval.

ATTENTION
Change in tyre size
Effect on control systems
If the rear wheel tyre
size is changed from
190 / 55 ZR 17 to 200 /
55 ZR 17 or vice versa,
the parameters of the
control systems have to be
re-coded by a specialist
workshop, preferably an
authorised BMW Motorrad
dealer.
