If an indicator showing a DTC
fault appears when DTC self-
diagnosis completes:
You can continue to ride.
Bear in mind that the DTC
function is not available or the
functionality might be subject
to certain restrictions.
Have the fault rectified as
quickly as possible by a spe-
cialist workshop, preferably an
authorised BMW Motorrad re-
tailer.
RUNNING IN
Engine
Until the running-in check,
vary the throttle opening
and engine-speed range
frequently; avoid riding at
constant engine rpm for
prolonged periods.
Try to do most of your rid-
ing during this initial period
on twisting, fairly hilly roads,
avoiding high-speed main
roads and highways if pos-
sible.
Comply with the running-in
speeds.
