Test the traverse of your vanes.
The nylon beaded chain will slide the vanes smoothly in
either direction.
Do not slide the vanes from left to right when the vanes are locked in the closed position. This
should only be done when the vanes are rotated to an open position.

Tips for Operating Your New Vertical Blinds-
After purchasing your new vertical blinds from Blindster, you may have questions about how to
properly use them. Read these tips to better understand how to operate your blinds and keep them
working problem-free for years to come.
•
CORD AND CHAIN CONTROL-
To rotate the louvers, simply pull on the metal bead chain. To
traverse the louvers, pull on the nylon cord. If the louvers become tangled or become
misaligned over time, re-adjust them by manually moving the louvers with your hand until
they’re all facing the same direction. Once you’ve made sure the louvers are all aligned, pull
the metal bead chain until you hear a grinding sound; this grinding noise comes from the vane
carriers realigning themselves
—then, give the chain another slight tug. This will re-align the
louver carriers. Once you pull the chain in the opposite direction, all the vanes will also be
aligned correctly.
•
WAND CONTROL-
The wand allows you to control many aspects of your vertical blinds. To
rotate the louvers, rotate the wand in the same direction that you want them to open. To
traverse the louvers across the window or door, rotate them into the open position and push or
pull on the wand in the desired direction.
•
STATIC REMOVAL-
Sometimes PVC vertical blinds can create static causing the individual
vanes not to hang straight and can even overlap and separate resulting in light gaps. The easy
home remedy for this would be to take a couple of dryer sheets and gently rub the front and
back of the affected vanes from top to bottom. You can also purchase a static guard spray
(often used for static on clothes) and lightly spray the vanes to reduce the buildup as well.
•
HOW TO REMOVE VANES FOR CLEANING-
The easiest way to remove the vanes is to take
a sturdy flat card (like a credit card) and insert it up into the stem against the vane. Slide the
vane up (so that it comes out of the groove that it is sitting in) and then pull both the vane and
card in a downward position to disconnect.
•
HOW TO PREVENT VANE MISALIGNMENT-
Avoid leaving the window open during
inclement, windy weather. Completely open (traverse) the blinds before opening the window.
Do not allow children or pets to pass through the closed blind.
