How to Install: Outside Mount
Let's make sure you have what you need!
What came with your blinds?
1. Track/headrail (if you chose a cordless tilt wand, this will come attached)
2. Vanes
3. Mounting brackets

4. 1 ½" #8 hex head wood screws
5. Extension bracket (one per mounting bracket)
**
6. One valance
7. Metal valance clips
8. Clear corner valance returns (two per valance)
What else will you need in order to complete the installation?
1. Rechargeable drill
2. Phillips screwdriver
3. Pencil
4. Tape measure
5. Ladder
6. Fasteners (if mounting into aluminum or concrete)
*Quantity will vary depending on width.
Regarding mounting brackets
- if your window is up to 54"
wide you will have two mounting brackets. If your window is 54 1/8"-84" wide you will have three
mounting brackets. If your window is 84 1/8"-108" wide you will have four mounting brackets. If your
window is 108 1/8"-120" wide you will have five mounting brackets.
**If applicable to your order. Regarding extension brackets
- if mounting above the trim, you may
need to use extension brackets. These brackets are used with your mounting brackets to provide
additional space between the mounting surface and the blind. It is commonly used when there is a
raised trim, molding, or window framing.
Outside Mount Installation-
1.
Determine the bracket locations
. Standard wall mount installation brackets are adjustable
and provide ½” to 1½” wall clearance. Determine how high to mount for the top of the bracket
(measured from the floor) by adding ½” to the blind height including the headrail. When
installed, louvers will clear the floor by ½”.
2.
Attach the metal valance clips to the brackets.
The track clip on the L-shaped mounting
bracket will need to be unscrewed so that the metal valance clip can be placed in between the
clip and the wall bracket. Sandwich the metal valance clip between the L-shaped mounting
bracket and the track clip. Then, turn the track clips to the side (horizontally).
