Ventilation leaks on the blower assembly seal and especially the dust bin seal
should be minimized. The dust bin seal can be checked by feeling for air
leaks around the seal and evidence of dust leaks.
3.8 Description and Function - Ventilation System Cont’d
Any ventilation irregularities can have an adverse effect on the overall
performance and efficiency of the system. Improper ventilation can cause
increased wear on internal components of the surface preparation equipment.
An important fact that is often ignored or misunderstood is:
The dust and contaminants are the principal cause of component wear.
A well-maintained ventilation system can remove contamination, which
in turn, helps reduce operating costs and increase the overall efficiency
of the surface preparation equipment.
DO handle and dispose of all dust in accordance with all applicable local,
state and federal regulations for the specific composition of dust being
collected.
