Minimal Encryption Key Store Security Level IT policy rule
Description
This rule specifies the minimum security level for the private key that the BlackBerry® device uses to encrypt email messages.
Default setting
The default setting is Medium security.
Usage
If you set this IT policy rule to Low security, the BlackBerry device never prompts the user for the key store password when
accessing the private key to encrypt messages.
If you set this IT policy rule to Medium security, the BlackBerry device prompts the user for the key store password when
accessing the private key to encrypt messages only if the password is cleared from the key store cache.
If you set this IT policy rule to High security, the BlackBerry device always prompts the user for the key store password when
accessing the private key to encrypt messages. If the user recently typed the password, the BlackBerry device prompts the
user to confirm the password.
With this IT policy rule set, it is mandatory that all keys use the security level that you set as the minimum, but the user can
set a higher security level on the BlackBerry device.
