Disallow Third Party Application Downloads IT policy rule
Description
This rule specifies whether applications that are not digitally signed by the Research In Motion® signing authority system
are permitted on the BlackBerry® device if the user tries to download the applications or the BlackBerry® Enterprise
Server or another party sends the applications to the device.
Default setting
The default setting is False.
Usage
Use this IT policy rule to prevent the BlackBerry device user from installing third-party applications that the RIM® signing
authority system has not digitally signed.

Exceptions
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft® Exchange supports this IT policy rule in BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version
3.6 and later.
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Novell® GroupWise® supports this IT policy rule in BlackBerry Device Software Version
4.0 and later.
External File System Encryption Level IT policy rule
Description
This rule specifies the level of encryption that the BlackBerry® device uses to encrypt files that it stores on an external file
system, such as an external memory device.
Default setting
The default setting is 0.
Usage
You can use this IT policy rule to require that the BlackBerry device encrypt an external file system, either including or
excluding multimedia directories. You cannot use this IT policy rule to encrypt files that the BlackBerry device user transfers
to the external memory device manually (for example, from a USB mass storage device).
