UTP AND THIN ETHERNET REPEATERS

AUI Port Connections

An AUI (Attachment Unit Interface) port is available on the LZ1504A to
attach the repeaters to an MAU (Media Attachment Unit) on a 10BASE5
backbone.  The AUI port can also be used with a plug-in microtransceiver
to attach to other media, such as 10BASE-T or fiber-optic networks.

The red LED indicates that the port is disabled.  This will occur when

there are errors on the link, such as multiple collisions in a row.  The port
will be re-enabled automatically once the error is cleared.  The green LED
indicates the level of network traffic.  As network traffic increases, the
LED’s intensity and blink duration increase.
