Getting Started
Wash each set of plates as instructed in the Care and Cleaning section.
Grilling Options
The grill can be used in two different positions:
• Closed-cover position – Cooks the food on the top and bottom at the same time.
• Open-flat position – Gives you a larger cooking surface. Cooks the food on the bottom
only. Food may need to be turned. See steps 1 and 2 below for setting up the unit to
the open-flat position.
To remove plates currently in position
1. Make sure the unit is unplugged.
2. Flip up the Support Leg on the cover then pull open the
Lid Lock. Open the grill to the half-open position (A).
3. Lift the Lid slightly to release the grill Hinge so the grill
can be placed in the open-flat position (B).
4. Press the release buttons (C) and lift out the plates.
CAUTION:
Plates may be extremely hot after cooking.
To insert the plates
1. Insert the two tabs on each plate into the grill slots (D).
2. Gently push down and snap plates into place.
To close the grill
1. Gently bring down the Lid over the bottom base until
they both come together.
2. Snap the Lid Lock in place (E).
Getting Ready to Cook
1. Before preheating the cooking plates, lightly brush each
plate with vegetable oil or lightly spray with nonstick
cooking spray.
2. Always preheat the grill in the closed position and
before placing any food on the cooking plates.
3. Close the grill and plug the unit into a standard wall
outlet. The Power On Indicator Light comes on and
stays on until the unit is unplugged. The green Preheat
Light comes on until the unit reaches the cooking
temperature.
4. Once preheated, the Preheat Light will go out. Open the
grill and place food to be cooked on the cooking plate.
CAUTION:
Plates are hot, use a hot mitt and carefully lift
the Lid to check or remove food.
5. Close the grill. The green Preheat Light may cycle on
