Troubleshooting

Vacuum cleaner won’t run

Possible Causes

 

Remedies

  Power cord not plugged in 

  Check electrical plug

  Blown fuse/tripped breaker 

  Check/Replace fuse or  

   

  reset breaker

Vacuum cleaner won’t pick up dirt

Possible Causes

 

Remedies

  Incorrect Height Adjustment 

  Adjust Powerfoot to correct  

   

  height setting

  Hose not attached to suction opening 

  Grasp Quick Reach Handle and  

   

  firmly push Hose Wand onto the  

   

  suction opening

  Twist ‘n Snap Hose not securely attached. 

  Make sure Twist ‘n Snap Hose is  

   

  snapped into locked position

  Crack or hole in Hose 

  Check Hose and replace if needed

  Broken or worn Drive Belt 

  Replace Drive Belt, see pg. 9-10

  Rotating Floor Brush bristles worn 

  Replace brush

  Rotating Floor Brush jammed 

  Remove brush and clean debris from  

   

  brush ends

  Clog in vacuum 

  Clear clog, see pg. 11-12 

  Dirt Container full 

  Empty Dirt Container

To reduce the risk of injury from moving 

parts and/ or electrical shock, turn Power 

Switch OFF and disconnect polarized plug 

from electrical outlet before performing 

troubleshooting checks.

Suction Inlet

Air Passageway

Louvers

Hose Wand Base

Check Upper Tank and Louvers for build up or clogs.  

Check to make sure Louvers are installed correctly. To 

unlock the Louvers, grasp the rim and turn toward the left. 

Pull straight down to remove. If the Louvers are  

missing or not locked into place, check and clear the tube 

in the center of the Dirt Container.

Remove the Twist ‘n Snap Hose from the vacuum by  

turning to the left. Check the Suction Inlet, Hose and Hose 

Wand for clogs. Remove any clogs from the hose using a 

long, narrow object.

Check the Foot Hose for clogs. If needed, remove the screw 

attaching the Hose Wand Base to the vacuum. Straighten 

the Foot Hose and unclog with a long, narrow object.

If the clog persists, follow the instructions for Checking 

the Rotating Floor Brush on page 9-10 and inspect the Air 

Passageway for obstructions.
