1. Important safety instructions
Practise using your new wheelchair on a small, flat area
first to prevent falls and hazardous situations. We recom-
mend having an assistant with you at this time.
• Before using the wheelchair check that all attached
components are correctly fastened.
• Make sure that the screw axes are correctly inserted
into the openings to prevent injuries.
• Please note that changes in the balance of the wheel
chair (e.g. when moving over obstacles that are to the
side of or behind the wheelchair) increase the risk of
tipping over.
• Steps must be negotiated only with the assistance of
two assistants. If available, use access ramps, lifts or
stair-climbing devices.
• The wheelchair may tip on inclines of 16% (10°)
or greater. The use of the anti-tilt mechanism
is recommended in these circumstances.
• Do not travel into an obstacle (step, kerb) without
braking or jump down from steps.
• The assistant may use the anti-tilt rollers to assist ‘in
tilting the wheelchair when negotiating obstacles.
• The brake must always be set when the user enters
or leaves the wheelchair.
• Make sure that the tyres have sufficient tread (>1 mm).
