of the movements of the microplate in
the thermo cassette, especially if the
shaking function is regularly used. This
white plastic powder-like substance
needs to be regularly cleaned out and
removed, in order for the instrument to
function properly.
Decontaminate the instrument when
relocating the instrument or sending it for
service. See Chapter 2.8 “Cleaning and
Decontamination of the Instrument”.
Get the instrument serviced regularly by
your Bioscreen C° Pro representative.

8.2 How to Clean the Thermo
Cassette
To clean the thermo cassette and the cover,
follow these steps:
1. Open the measurement chamber door by
pressing symbol
on the touch screen.
2. Take the thermo cassette out by first
pressing it gently inwards:
3. Then lift it upwards from the handle:
4. If you have spilled infectious agents on
the cassette or on the cover,
decontaminate according to “2.8.1
Disinfection Steps”. Otherwise, clean the
surfaces of the cassette, the cover and
the plate carrier using a soft cloth or
tissue paper soaked in a mild detergent
solution, soap solution or 70 % ethanol.
5. Attach the thermo cassette gently back
into the instrument by sliding it straight
on the plate carriage. Be very careful not
to bend the connecting pins:
