Troubleshooting 

Below are some common troubleshooting tips for the SterilCut S28. If these do not resolve the issue, 
please contact BioCut. 

 

 

Problem 

Recommendations 

The SterilCut S28 is not cutting material 

Adjust the tensioning screw accordingly. (Pg. 12) 

The SterilCut S28 is not cutting material 

as desired 

Adjust width of Blade Guide Bearings (Pg. 19) 

The SterilCut S28 is not cutting the 

material or has slowed down significantly 

Clean out possible debris that has found its way into the 

Drive Wheel or lower housing area. 

The SterilCut S28 is stalling 

Check that the blade is not over-tensioned or obstructed 

by debris. (Pg. 12) 

The SterilCut S28 is not running 

Check to see if Blade Cover is installed correctly. (Pg. 14) 

The SterilCut S28 is not running 

Ensure Quick stop Switch Is not actuated (optional 

feature) 

The SterilCut S28 is not running 

Ensure pneumatic foot pedal line(s) are intact and inserted 

fully into push to connect fittings on rear of Motor Housing 

The SterilCut S28 is not running 

Ensure Standoff on Blade Cover is present and contacting 

sensor on Motor Housing. 

The SterilCut S28 is not running 

Ensure Sensor is flush with Blade Housing Fixture Plate 

The SterilCut S28 is not running 

Unplug SterilCut S28 for at least 30 seconds then plug 

back in and try again. (SterilCut S28 designed to fault in 

order to protect internal components) 

The SterilCut S28 is not tracking 

Ensure Tensioning Wheel is not over tensioned (Pg. 12) 

The SterilCut S28 is not tracking 

Ensure Tensioning Wheel is not over cambered (Pg. 18) 

The SterilCut S28 is not tracking 

Ensure lower Socket Head Cap Screw on Carrier is 

tightened 

The SterilCut S28 is not tracking 

If late in use of blade life, check blade for cracks, dullness 

or any defects. If defect found, replace blade. 

The SterilCut S28 is not tracking 

Check Hub, Tension Wheel and Drive Wheel for damage 

or wear 

The SterilCut S28 is making abnormal 

noises upon start up 

Check spacing and alignment of Blade Guide and Table 

Insert 

 

PROHIBITED: 

Never attempt to operate the SterilCut S28 if any part of the system has been 

damaged.
