Unit description
The Ethernet/RS422-RS485 converter is independent electrical equipment with external power
supply via a 24V AC power supply unit. It can be loosely installed or mounted to clamping profile
bars in distributor boxes. By internal DIP switches and plug bridges different operational modes
can be set. The settings necessary for operating temperature chambers of the BINDER GmbH
have already been pre-set by the BINDER GmbH. The connection to an Ethernet network
(TCP/IP protocol) is established using a RJ45 socket and a PATCH cable. The connection to a
temperature chamber of the BINDER GmbH or to a plug distributor for connecting several
temperature chambers is established using a 9-poles Sub-D socket and a special cable. Both
connection cables and the power supply unit are included with the scope of delivery.
The Ethernet/RS422-RS485 converter provides a fix MAC address to which an also fix IP
address must be assigned in the Ethernet. A COM interface is assigned to the measurement
and evaluation computer on which e.g., the communication software APT-COM™ of the
BINDER GmbH is running, using a driver that will be installed on this computer. The
Ethernet/RS422-RS485 converter is thus functionally transformed into a COM interface for this
computer, even though it might be located at a far distinct place.
The connected temperature chamber(s) are addressed via this COM interface and the address
that can be individually adjusted at each chamber controller.
