CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Warning: before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug from the power socket
and wait for it to cool completely. The appliance and all its components in contact
with foods (clamps, croissant warmer support, etc.) need thorough cleaning after
each use.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid and do not wash it
under running water or in a dishwasher.
Clean the clamps regularly; they can be cleaned with ordinary washing-up liquid,
using a soft scouring pad on the metal parts only.
Clean the crumb tray (3) regularly; otherwise, accumulated food residues on the
bottom might cause smoke and even catch fire; clean it with ordinary washing-
up liquid. Dry it before putting it back in place.
The outside surface must be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive
cleaners which might damage the surface.
When the appliance is out of use, cover it and store it in a dry place. Do not
immerse the toaster in water or any other liquid.
If you decide not to use the appliance any more, it must be rendered unusable
by cutting off the power supply cord (first making sure that the plug has been
removed from the power socket), and any parts which are hazardous if used as
children's playthings must be rendered harmless.
