Thermal Pane Windows
Install thermal pane windows to reduce or eliminate condensation on window glass. The interior
surface of the thermal pane window will be warmer, reducing moisture condensation.
Dripping Ceiling Vents
During cold weather and even in short term occupancy, condensation frequently forms on ceiling
vents and may even accumulate to the point of dripping onto the surfaces below. This is
frequently misinterpreted as a leaking roof vent but is most often condensation drippage. Follow
the preceding steps to control moisture condensation, and protect surfaces with plastic sheeting
until the moisture has dissipated.
SLIDE OUT SYSTEMS
Your unit may be equipped with single or multiple room slides.
3000 Series and 4000 ST Series Slide Out Room Operation
Control Panel Locations
On all 3000 Series travel trailers, the main slide room control panel is located on the galley upper
end pad. Before operating any slide out room the travel trailer must be level and stable.
1)
Check for obstruction both inside and outside the travel trailer to ensure that nothing will
interfere with the operations of the slide out room.
2)
Lower the travel trailer levelling jacks to stabilize the travel trailer, but not to support the
travel trailer’s full weight.
3)
If the travel trailer is not level, it could damage the slide out room, seals or slide out
mechanism.
4)
REMOVE TRAVEL LOCKS:
After unit has been levelled and stabilized you must
remove the two travel locks before operating the slide out room:
living area slide out rooms have one travel lock located at each end of the slide out room
with a knob that you turn to release the slide out room from lock mode,
locate the slide control panel (see below for location of control panel), and push and hold
the “OUT” button until the room is out and comes to a complete stop, then release the
button,
NOTE: YOUR BATTERIES NEED TO BE ADEQUATELY CHARGED OR YOU
MUST BE CONNECTED TO 110/120-VOLT POWER (SHORE POWER OR
GENERATOR) IF IT IS AVAILABLE TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTION OF
THE SLIDE OUT MECHANISM. NOTE: THE BATTERY CHARGER IS
NOT AN ACCEPTABLE POWER SOURCE.
As an additional source, you may
want to have the trailer’s 7-pin connector hooked up to the tow vehicle and the
tow vehicle’s engine running for smoother operation.
5)
Never attempt to move your travel trailer with the slide out room extended. This will cause
damage to the room and/or travel trailer.
From owners Dave & Diane Hill -- just recently returned from a 22,000k trip across Canada in our T2801. We
went through some tremendous downpours and often got road water under the slide. While in Newfoundland, I
had another look at what might be the problem. (I thought the problem was fixed after learning about the slide
motor lock) I did notice the white rubber seal was not totally touching the under-body in the middle of the seal
above the two tires. I cleaned the area and applied a strip of Gorilla tape to close the gap and it did help.
When I returned home, I removed the screws holding the white rubber seal and pulled the seal up about 1/8
