This measurement is taken with the gate fully closed

GATE 

CLOSED

GATE 

OPEN

When the gate is on its fully open, or fully closed position, 
the distance from the center of the mounting hole of the 
gate bracket, to the hinge center-line, must be equal or 
less than that of the mounting hole on the post bracket to 
the hinge center-line. If you feel that you have followed 
the instructions on how to mount the brackets, and the  
distance of the hole of the gate bracket to the hinge 
center-line is greater than that of the post bracket, stop 
the installation process and contact technical support.
