9. AP 232 Retrofit Kit
An external source selection of the line inputs can be done via the 9-pin Sub-D remote connection (11) with
the corresponding wiring. LEDs indicating the corresponding status feedback.
For devices that are to be operated with RS 232 serial interface control (for example media control systems
such as CUE, Crestron, AMX) use the AP 232 PCB. Refer also to chapter"9. AP 232 Retrofit Kit".
For an operation and configuration of the MIX 10 NG via a PC or media control system, the MIX 10 NG has
to be equipped with the AP 232 retrofit kit.
1.Disconnect the MIX 10 NG from the mains and remove the upper lid of the housing. You can remove the
screws with a size 2 Allen-type wrench.
2.Check if the VCA board or the bridge board is present. If yes, remove the board.
3.Plug in the AP 232 retrofit kit.
Important: Make sure that the arrow indication ">>>" in the corner of the AP 232 retrofit kit points to the right
housing corner on the front (mains switch).
9.1 Software Installation
The supplied software serves for the configuration and shows the possible operation via the serial RS 232
interface.
The software operates under Windows 95". Put disk 1 into the disk drive and start the setup. Follow the
instructions on the screen.
9.2 Connection
Connect the remote connection (11) with a standard RS 232 connecting cable to the serial RS 232 interface
of your PC.
At the factory the serial interface "COM 1" has been configured. For changes refer to chapter "9.3.1 Menu".
9.3 Operation
9.3.1 Menu
When you start the "MIX 10 NG" program, the operating surface "Remote Control" appears.
File - In the "File" menu you can leave the program via the"Quit" command.
View - In the"View" menu the operating surface can be displayed in
either large or small format, as part or full screen.
MIX 10 NG - In the"MIX 10 NG" menu you can enter the"Configuration"
command and adjust various parameters such as start adjustments,
ducking, fading and system adjustments.
Port - In the "Port" menu you can disconnect the connection between
the PC and the MIX 10 NG via the "Disconnect" command. Via the "
View messages" command the data communication of the serial RS 232
interface is displayed.
Via the "Configuration" command you can check, if the correct port is
displayed or enter the port to which the MIX 10 NG is connected.

9.3.2 Operating Field Line
In the operating field "Line" you can select the line source connected to the MIX 10 NG by selecting
the corresponding field "Tuner", "Tape", "CD", "Aux". If you select the field "off" you switch off all
line sources.
