Configuration parameters for establishing a connection:
Configuring the BeWAN Wi-Fi AP54:
•
The Access Point must be configured in
"Access Point" mode.
•
Determine the communication channel on
the Access Point, i.e. the frequency on
which the wireless devices will
communicate (Reminder: frequencies 1 to
13 used in mainland France and in
Europe).
Configuring the wireless client stations:
•
Each client station must be configured in
"Infrastructure" mode to detect and
connect to the Access Point.
•
Each client station must scan the SSIDs
available to then make the connection.
You should also ensure that:
•
A compatible transmission rate is used. For example: if you wish to connect a 802.11b wireless
device to the BeWAN Wi-Fi AP54, do not select the
11g Only option on the Primary Setup tab.
•
The same security parameters (same key) are entered for the wireless devices forming your
network, to allow the connection to be established. The security must also be activated on both
sides. Refer to the
Security section, “"Primary Setup" tab” on page 12 of the “Configuring the
BeWAN Wi-Fi AP54” chapter.
