FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE OF A
RADIO ALARM CLOCK:
This absolutely precisely timed radio-controlled alarm clock is automati-
cally set by the world’s most accurate clock – a caesium atomic time base.
The radio alarm clock receives the time signals from the official time trans-
mitter DCF 77. On a frequency of 77.5 kHz, time signals are automatically
received within a radius of approx. 1500 km via a built-in antenna. The
transmitter is located near Frankfurt / Main. Day after day, the alarm clock
automatically sets itself to the exact minutes, hours display, and seconds
and automatically changes to summer (CEST) and wintertime (CET). If you
are out of reception range or if the station is occasionally not received, the
alarm clock works as a high-precision quartz clock.
