3.13 Installation on collective positive pressure flues
(fi g. 45 - only for 25kW)
The collective fl ue is a fl ue gas exhaust system suitable for collecting and
expelling the combustion products of several appliances installed on several
fl oors of a building.
The positive pressure collective fl ues can only be used for type C condensing
appliances. Therefore the B53P/B23P configuration is forbidden. The
installation of boilers under collective pressure fl ues is allowed exclusively
in G20. Make sure that the air intake and exhaust pipes of the combustion
products are watertight.
WARNINGS:
The manufacturer does not assumes any responsibility in case of
failure to apply the check valve and its label before starting the boiler.
The appliances connected to a collective pipe must all be of the
same type and have equivalent combustion characteristics.
The number of devices connected to a positive pressure collective
pipe is defi ned by the fl ue designer.
The boiler is designed to be connected to a collective fl ue sized to
operate in conditions where the static pressure of the collective fl ue
pipe can exceed the static pressure of the collective air duct of 25
Pa in the condition in which n-1 boilers work at maximum rated heat
input and 1 boiler at the minimum rated heat input allowed by the
controls.
The minimum permissible pressure diff erence between the fl ue gas
outlet and the combustion air inlet is -200 Pa (including - 100 Pa of
wind pressure).
The number and characteristics of the exhaust ventilation devices
which are the real characteristics of the fl ue itself.
The terminal of the collective pipe must generate a an upward air
current.
The condensation can fl ow inside the boiler.
The maximum recirculated value allowed in wind conditions is 10%.
The maximum permissible pressure diff erence (25 Pa) between the
combustion products inlet and the air outlet of a collective fl ue can not
be exceeded when-1 boiler work at the maximum nominal heat output
and 1 boiler within minimum temperature allowed by the checks.
The collective smoke pipe must be adequate for an overpressure of
at least 200 Pa.
The collective fl ue must not be equipped with a wind-proofi ng device.
A data plate must be present at the connection point with the collective
fl ue pipe. The plate must include at least the following information:
- the collective fl ue is sized for C(10) boilers type
- the maximum permissible mass fl ow of the combustion products in kg/h
- the dimensions of the connection to the common pipes
- a warning concerning the openings for the air outlet and the entry
of the combustion products of the collective pressure pipe; these
openings must be closed and their tightness must be checked when
the boiler is disconnected
- the name of the manufacturer of the collective smoke pipe or its
identifi cation symbol.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This accessory must only be installed by professionally qualifi ed
personnel.
The accessory, to be applied immediately to the boiler exhaust outlet with the
corresponding adapter, has the purpose of avoiding the back-fl ow of smoke in
an appliance while the other appliances connected to the fl ue are operating.
The check valve kit can only be used for devices contemplated in this
instruction manual.
It is to be used only for flue gas discharge and air suction of the
condensing boilers since the maximum temperature allowed from the
component is 120 °C.
The accessory is equipped with an integrated condensate collection system
that does not require further connections to the exhaust system in addition
to what is already provided for the boiler.
Depending on the kit requested, it is possible to connect:
•
Ø80 check valve kit with integrated siphon
– Ø80 PP twin pipe system
connection
•
Ø80/125 check valve kit with integrated siphon
– connection with
concentric pipes Ø80/125 with PP fl ue pipe in combination with Ø60/100
to Ø80/125 adapter.
For both types of exhaust, further accessories are available (curves,
extensions, etc.) which make possible the fl ue gas exhaust confi gurations
foreseen in the boiler booklet.
The pipes must be installed in such a way as to avoid condensation
sticking which would prevent the correct evacuation of the combus-
tion products.
The flue gas pipe must be suitably selected based on the parameters
shown below.

Before attempting any operation, disconnect the appliance from the
electrical supply.
Before assembling, lubricate the gaskets with a non-corrosive glide
lubricant.
The flue gases discharge pipe should be inclined, if the pipe is hori-
zontal, by 3° towards the boiler.
1. Ø80 check valve kit with integrated siphon
- Install the split PP system kit.
- Mount the check valve (
A
) on the
fl
ue gas exhaust reduction (
B
) previously
mounted on the concentric outlet of the air box.
DO NOT fasten the check valve to the flue exhaust reduction with
screws. The piercing of the valve would cause the lack of tightness of
the integrated siphon, with consequent leakage of condensate and/
or fumes into the environment.
The installation of the check valve requires the application of the la-
bel supplied with the kit on a visible part of the boiler casing. The
application of the label is essential for safety purposes during the
maintenance or replacement of the boiler and/or collective pipe.

At this point it is possible to install the curves and extensions, available as
accessories, depending on the type of installation desired.
2. Ø80/125 check valve kit with integrated siphon
- Install the adapter from Ø60/100 to Ø80/125, with
fl
ue pipe in PP, on the
concentric outlet of the air box.
- Mount the check valve (
C
) on the adapter (
D
) previously mounted on the
concentric outlet of the air box.
With C(10) installation, in any case, register the fan speed (rpm) on the
label on the side of the product serial number.
