AINTAINING THE AIR FILTER
Cleaning the dry cartridge air filter
Cleaning should be performed according to the amount of dust on the surface worked upon, or every day if
need be.
Remove the filter by taking off the filter cap and unscrewing the filter screw.
Clean the filter element and the foam prefilter with compressed air or, in the absence of this, place them in a
container only filled with petrol, gently tapping the sides before removing and drying completely.
NOTE: Never replace the filter element and the foam prefilter if they are still wet with petrol or other products, as
this may damage the engine.
If the filter element or prefilter have deteriorated, become scratched or been used for over 100 hours, replace
them with new ones.

NOTE
: If not positioned as shown, the belts may break in a matter of minutes. Even if cracks appear, the belts
should not be replaced until they break on their own. The belts are made of sturdier materials than those on the
market and can only be found at “BENZA” distributors
· Always perform this task with the engine switched off.
· Never work without the belt cover in place as this may result in personal injury or harm your ma-
chine.
· If cleaning the filter with compressed air, always wear protective eyewear, as particles may be relea-
sed into your eyes and cause injury.
· If using petrol for cleaning purposes, carefully read the safety instructions on pp. 27 and 28 on fuel
use.
