Chapter 3: Installation Procedure
Connecting the Power for the Fan and Heater
If the Bentek Zone Monitoring System is not included in the product, AC power
must be connected for the fan and the optional heater.
The fan and optional heater include a power supply that requires external
voltage to operate. A separate external disconnecting means must be used for
the incoming power to the power supply. The input voltage of the power supply
is 104-120VAC at <15A.
External Disconnect (USA): The external disconnect for the AC power per the
National Electrical Code must comply with the following requirements: (1) An
alternating current (AC) disconnecting means shall be mounted within sight of
or in the equipment. (2) The alternating current (AC) switch shall be located
where readily accessible and shall be labeled.
External Disconnect (Canada): The external disconnect for the AC power must be
provided at the time of installation. Check with the installer or contractor for the
instructions on the external disconnect.
A knockout on the right side of the electronics enclosure provides a 0.875-inch
hole to accommodate a 0.5-inch conduit. Install the AC power wires through this
opening.
For the fan, connect 104-120VAC to TB1. Connect AC hot to CB101-1, neutral to
TB1-N, and ground to TB1-GND using 18-12AWG wire. Wires should either be
1000V rated or separated from all PV conductors with a barrier.
