Opening/closing the slider
Opening the slider
Opening the slider has different effects
depending on the current situation:
• If phone was switched off: the phone is
switched on.
• In standby mode: The key lock is released
automatically. The opening melody is
played if activated. Press any key to end
playback. Display and key light are
switched on.
• Incoming call: You accept the call. A call
in progress is not affected by opening the
slider.
• Open applications remain open and in the
background.
• Open prompts and notifications, e.g. in
dialogs, are accepted.
Closing the slider
Closing the slider has different effects
depending on the current situation:
• In standby mode: The closing melody
is played if activated. Press any key to
end playback.
Key lock is set automatically after about
3 sec. and the display and key light are
switched off.
• Calls: All active/held calls are ended.
If a headset is connected, you can
continue the call. A warning tone is
sounded.
• Incoming call: Reject call.
• Pending outgoing call is ended. If a
headset is connected, an outgoing call is
not affected.
• Generally all open applications are closed.
A warning sound is played and a prompt
is displayed asking whether or not you
would like to continue the application.
If you reject or ignore the prompt,
the application is closed. Please note that
unsaved data will be lost.
If you would like to continue an open
application, you can put it in the
background explicitly via the task key
before closing the slider. Background
applications remain open when the slider
is closed.
• If the front camera is active (also in the
background), a prompt is displayed
asking whether you would like to
continue with the rear camera.
• Data connections:
Ongoing data transfer (e.g.
sending/receiving SMS/MMS or
retrieving e-mail or ongoing
synchronisation) and download are not
affected by closing the slider.
During open Bluetooth or server
connections, a prompt is displayed asking
whether you would like to continue the
connection.
• Open prompts and notifications, e.g. in
dialogs, are rejected. Current events and
alarms are switched off.
