Figure 5 – Recommended Location for One R
adar Sensor
Figure 7 – Minimum Installation Clearance
To reduce the possibility of the radar sensor detecting
objects mounted to the vehicle, make sure the face of the
sensor extends out a minimum of 5/16 of an inch further
than the steps or fuel tanks within 6 inches of the radar
sensor body.
See Figure 7.

OPERATOR DISPLAY UNIT INSTALLATION
See Figure 1
. Use the nuts and washers (7) provided to
attach the ODU (5) to the mounting bracket (4). Details
for attaching the bracket depend on the vehicle model.
The mounting bracket is designed to be bent up to 15
o
to
optimize the viewing angle for the driver.
See Figure 1
. Use the self-tapping screws (6) to attach the
ODU assembly to the windshield pillar on the side of the
vehicle with the radar sensor.
See Figure 8.
If
radar sensors (3) are installed on both sides of the
vehicle, attach one operator display unit on the driver side
windshield pillar and one on the curb side windshield pillar.
Connect up to four radar sensors to each ODU. Driver side
radar sensors connect to the driver side ODU. Curb side
radar sensors connect to the curb side ODU.
See Figure 9. Refer to What to Expect at Vehicle Power-Up
and Operator Display Unit Warnings for more information.
Mount the ODU (5)
to the Windshield
Pillar

Passenger Side
Vehicle equipment, including trim, hand rails,
aftermarket lights, and seasonal decorations must not
infringe on the radar sensor zone. Failure to comply
with this requirement will impair the radar function.
Radar Clearance
Maintain enough clearance around the radar sensor to
make sure that nearby vehicle equipment does not interfere
with the radar beam. Maintain this clearance when the
vehicle is stationary or in motion.

HARNESS INSTALLATION
See Figure 1.
Use the corrugated loom (14) to cover the
harness assembly (13) connecting the radar sensor (3) to
the operator display unit (5).
See Figure 9.
Use the in-line
terminal splice (10), solder sleeve (9), and adhesive-lined
heat shrink tubing (8) to connect the power and ground
wires. Details for connecting the wiring is vehicle dependent.
