6.3.3 Rapid voltage changes
Rapid voltage changes are rapid variations of the r.m.s. value between two consecutive
voltage values. These changes are characterised by a definable but unspecified dura-
tion.
Rapid voltage changes can be due to load variations or switching operations in the us-
er's system, or faults in the supply system.
If, in the case of rapid voltage changes, the conditions for voltage sags or swells are also
fulfilled, the occurring events are often regarded as voltage sags or swells rather than
rapid voltage changes.
