STEP-BY-STEP: POSITIONING PROBES ON PATIENT

Insert Core sensors into the patient and position the Surface sensor on 
the patient skin

•

Core Probe Placement: 

– Rectal/esophageal
– 014-00005 or 014-00322

•

Surface Probe Placement:

– Do not place skin sensor under CureWrap
– Neonates: often by clavicle
– 014-00021 or 014-00321

Core probes can be inserted into the patient’s rectum or esophagus.
Surface probes can be placed on the patient’s skin anywhere not covered by the wrap. The 
clavicle is a common location on neonates for the surface probe.
