Security Features
The Belkin Advanced Secure Headset Adapter is a unique and secure
product used to protect audio devices. Below is a summary of some key
security features incorporated into this product:
Analog Audio Data Diode
Preventing audio stream from headphones flowing back to the computer’s
audio jack. The only effective means to protect from remote eavesdropping
through connected headphones configured as a microphone.
Timer Function
The Belkin Advanced Secure Headset Adapter is equipped with a timer
function with a clear indicator LED to warn the user that the microphone
or headset is active.
Independent Microcontroller
Attacks from connected computers are prevented by the Belkin Advanced
Secure Headset Adapter’s isolated microcontroller. The product cannot
be tampered with or be controlled by a connected computer.
Secure Mute Function
The audio device can be securely muted through microphone electrical
isolation and input shorting.
Microphone Enable Push-Button
Microphone enable push-button with an internal 60-second timer
preventing the option that an open microphone can be abused for
environment eavesdropping.
Active Always-On Anti-Tampering
Active always-on chassis anti-tampering system prevents the Belkin
Secure Headset Adapter electronic circuitry from being accessed and
tampered with by permanently disabling the product once tampering is
detected. (Both microphone and headset are grounded.)
Tamper-Evident Label
A holographic security tamper-evident label is placed on the enclosure
to provide a visual indication if the Adapter has been opened or
compromised.
Please note:
Belkin Secure products cannot be upgraded, serviced
or fixed.
Secure Packaging
“Tear away” packaging ensures secure delivery of the product as it is
routed to the end user. The recyclable packaging also breaks down flat,
simplifying the cleanup process.
Non-Reprogrammable Firmware
All firmware resides on ROM. The product features custom firmware
that is not reprogrammable, preventing the ability to remotely attack
the Headset Adapter.
