Operating the Belkin Advanced Secure
Headset Adapter
1. Check that the front-panel red LED is illuminated (microphone
is disabled) and that the admin LED on the rear end panel is
illuminated in green to indicate that the Belkin Advanced Secure
Headset Adapter is ready to use.
2. Try to play music or any audio from your computer to make sure
that it can be heard through connected headphones or speakers.
Note: Audio is unidirectional and is always heard through the
speakers/headset.
3. Open a software application that provides an indication of the
microphone signal level, e.g. Skype. Make sure that the microphone
input level is zero even when you talk into the microphone.
4. Press the microphone enable push-button, make sure the green
front-panel LED is illuminated and that the microphone audio signal
level is OK.
5. The microphone channel will be open for a period of 60 seconds.
6. The microphone can be closed/disabled by pressing the
microphone disable push-button.
7. To extend the time interval by another 60 seconds, press the
microphone enable push-button again at any time when the
microphone is enabled.
8. The Belkin Advanced Secure Headset Adapter’s front-panel green
LED will start blinking slowly and the audio output device will start
generating audio beeps during the last 15 seconds of the time
interval.
9. During the last 5 seconds of the time interval, the front-panel green
LED will blink faster.
10. At the end of the time interval, the microphone will be disabled and
the front-panel red LED will illuminate.
