Configuring Windows and System Settings
When the iTX Playout Appliance 2 is powered up for the first time, the local user (
itx-user
) is
configured to automatically logon to Windows.
Since factory-delivered units are initially configured with generic Windows and system
settings, you must configure some settings to ensure that they are appropriate for your
geographic location and local network configuration.
To configure the Windows and system settings:
1 Open the
Windows Clock, Language and Region
window and verify that the Date and
Time settings are appropriate for the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) time zone used
by your iTX system.
We also recommend that you configure the following settings as appropriate for your
situation:
• If the Appliance is part of a workgroup, disable the
Synchronize Time with...
setting on the
Date and Time
window’s
Internet
tab.
• If you want to change from the default language of English, configure the
Language
settings.
• Ensure that the
Location
and
Formats s
ettings are configured appropriately in the
Region
window.
2 Change the default DHCP assigned IP address to a static IP address using the
Internet
Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
Properties
window.
3 Change the order of the network protocol bindings.
a Open the
Network Connections
window.
b Open the
Advanced Settings
window by selecting
Advanced > Advanced
Settings
menu option.
c Select the
Adapters and Bindings
tab.
