5.0 Carrying out measurements
The respective accident prevention regulations esta-
blished by the professional associations for electrical
systems and equipment must be strictly met at all ti-
mes.
Measurements in dangerous proximity of electrical
systems are only to be carried out in compliance with
the instructions of a responsible electronics technici-
an, and never alone.
Measurements are only allowed on conductors with
undamaged insulation. The conductor insulation
must comply with the requirements for basic insula-
tion with reference to nominal voltage and measure-
ment circuit class.
Turn on the power switch
Select the measuring range in accordance with the
current to be measured. If the current is unknown, al-
ways select the largest measuring range.
Both measurement ranges (mA/A) can be selected
and are respectively equipped with an automatic mea-
surement range selection facility 30/300.
Open the clamp and enclose the wire located in the
center with the jaw
Leakage currents not flowing back via an electrical
conductor (e.g. N) can be measured by surrounding
all active conductors (e.g. L1, L2, L3, N, or L1, N)
